Massage Therapy Education

What do Massage Therapists learn in school?

Sometimes people refer to a RMT as a masseuse. I try not to take it personally when people say it, it isn't their fault that they don't know how much we study here in BC. A degree in Massage Therapy would be helpful!! An article came out recently that compared the education hours (by subject) for the major health professions from the top ranked programs in North America. Two of the programs were local (Massage Therapy and Naturopathic Medicine)! It was amazing to see the what we learn(ed) compared to the other professions. Take a peak at the article here, and see why we are referred to as Massage Therapists (RMTs) in BC (also in Ontario and Newfoundland/Labrador), and not simply as masseuses.
